EXL Training will be providing training whilst adhering to social distancing measures and enhanced infection control to keep your staff and ours safe.
Training Rooms
To adhere to the social distancing guidelines training rooms will need to be large enough to provide adequate space for all candidates and trainers. The guidelines are currently 2 metres between each person. The maximum number of candidates for our courses is 12 however if there is not enough space provided for everyone to be safely distanced the number of candidates would need to be reduced.
Before the course commences the trainer will check that everybody attending is of good health and if anyone should display known Covid 19 symptoms, such as a continuous cough or high temperature, they will be asked to leave the session.
Practical Training
Candidates will be required to clean their hands prior to and after any practical elements of the training.
For First Aid courses candidates will be issued with individual training packs containing gloves, face shield, bandage and triangular bandage for practical assessment.
Resuscitation
The HSE and and DofE still require rescue breaths to be trained and assessed therefore we have brought in extra hygiene measures. Our mannequins will be cleaned with alcohol sanitising wipes between learners and will have a deep clean after each session. The mannequin lungs will also be replaced after each use. Although we have been advised that these measures are enough to provide adequate infection control we will also provide all candidates with their own personal CPR face shield for extra protection. Resus UK guidance on performing real life CPR during the COVID-19 pandemic and the protective measures that should be taken will be included in the training session.
Unconscious Casualty
The trainer will be able to demonstrate the recovery position on a candidate if both are wearing face coverings and have sanitised their hands. If this should not be possible the trainer will demonstrate the recovery position on themselves.
Choking Casualty
The candidate will demonstrate on a manikin.
Other Practical Assessments
The candidate will be able to demonstrate on themselves as to minimise unnecessary contact with others.
If you have any further concerns about how we can provide your training safely please contact us and we will be happy to discuss this with you.
